UNDRR

The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction is the UN body responsible for natural disasters. The committee UNDRR aims for a World without disasters threatening people’s lives. The mission of the committee is to provide leadership and support the accelerate global efforts in disaster risk reduction to achieve inclusve sustainable development and the goal of the sendai framework

In MUNB’25, delegates of the UNDRR committee will cooperate to their agenda item of Strengthening earthquake risk management and reducing gaps in high-risk countries, considering that the matter needs immediate solutions worldwide.

Fully acknowledging the fact that natural disasters are a part of nature and can not be prevented, the matter is known to require a sensitive approach. As well as our approach to disasters, also people’s awareness plays a crucial role in resolving the problems. It is vitally important for people to be conscious in order to overcome disasters with the minimum damage possible. Today, natural disasters are not talked about enough in both media and political fields. Bringing these issues to fields like politics, media, and schools is vital since millions of people around the world have been living through natural disasters and an inescapable amount of those people have not succeeded in surviving the disasters.

In this committee, delegates are expected to find solutions to these matters and work on their solutions cooperatively and meticulously.
