As the First Committee of the General Assembly, Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) is fully committed to work upon solving utmost significant disarmament and international security matters all around the globe.
In this edition of MUNB, the DISEC committee will converge on ’’Questioning the use of PMCs (Private Military Companies) in areas of armed conflict.’’
The utilization of PMCs in areas of armed conflict is a controversial notion due to the probable disequilibrium amid sides which might revive in such layout. On the other hand some proponents argue that PMCs provide essential security services, logistical support, and combat expertise that can enhance military operations. Also PMCs that can be deployed rapidly, supplementing national forces can make countries more prepared for any crisis.
The increasing reliance on PMCs prompts critical questions about sovereignty, accountability, and the long-term consequences of outsourcing warfare.
In order to closely study the measures that states may take to resolve these challenges, the delegates of this committee are likely to adopt actions regarding the points above.
